Distinctions are provided to aid in understanding and discussion of the sections of the evolutionary and revolutionary processes in the Meta Theory Matrix in the Appendices. Provided as a primer for how to read the overall matrix, it also identifies at a very high level the general processes independent of a defined science. It is possible to understand the entire theory by understanding just the distinctions.

This theory contemplates only behavior, not title or role. Figures are provided as a graphical element to help explain the original theory in the context of the Metatheory. The original theorist’s graphical descriptions are preserved where possible with the intention of representing the 5 stages of the Metatheory in their depiction.

Groups

Groups are defined as one or more individuals who associate for the purpose of survival. Groups include individuals, teams, organizations (tribes), and society.

Individual

The individual is just an individual, a group of one. Independent, they would perish. Individuals are the foundation of the Meta Theory. The evolution of the individual enables the possible evolution of organizations and ultimately society.  Individuals go through growth periods that allow them to either evolve and thrive, or stagnate and diminish.  Properly functioning organizations need evolving individuals to perform.

Team / Pack / Family

A team is a group of 2 to 20 individuals. Packs include wolves and other small group teams that work together.  Families work in this size as well.  Groups of families don’t currently organize into organizations/companies.  Packs of wolves don’t organize into super packs of wolves and ultimately into large societies. This theory does not yet describe the evolution of a Teams or families as this conversation fits in either the Individual or Organization evolution/revolution discussion.

Organization

Organizations range in size from 20 to 150 individuals (1 to 8 teams). An organization is the biologically defined size humans are best suited to live in. In the wild, human tribes range in size from 20 to 150. When the tribe gets past 150, a portion of the tribe splits off and forms another tribe, allowing equilibrium to return to the original tribe.

A tribe is the natural, sociologically healthy state of humans from a purely physiological and psychological perspective. It’s what’s in the human DNA. This biological distinction identifies how our physiology is intended to behave naturally and at its highest level of performance.

Society

Society is many organizations living persistently together over time. In the case of modern man, society can reach in the thousands, millions, and billions. Society creates inherent issues with natural organizational behavior, specifically with regard to natural mating behavior, social morality, leadership, caring for the young, and optimal performance for individuals.
